The Next Generation Of Tools

Ash Nehru is one of the founding members of United Visual Artists (UVA) as well as the company's Software Director. Ash will be speaking about the next generation of visualisation tools - in particular d3, which is UVA's custom integrated production tool for sculptural media installations. d3 has been used for many of UVA's events and installations, and recent projects will be used as a reference to get an in-depth look at its workings.

Established in 2003, United Visual Artists are an art and design practice based in London. UVA produce work at the intersection of sculpture, architecture, live performance, moving image and digital installation. The team members come from disciplines including fine art, architecture, communication design, moving image, computer science and engineering; the cross-pollination of diverse skills inspires new fields of exploration, which is core to their ethos. Pushing the boundaries of research, software and engineering, UVA’s work aims above all to be meaningful and engaging. Some of their best work was done for bands such as Massive Attack, Chemical Brothers, Battles and more.
