Ever since his first experiences with the humble ZX81 back in the early eighties, Brendan has continued to explore the interplay of people, code, design and art, In 2009 he was listed among top twenty web designers in the world by .Net magazine, was featured in the "Design Icon" series in Computer Arts, and numerous magazines, journals and books, and has a Webby nomination for his pioneering "Psycho Studio video editor. His Cinema Redux project, which distills movies down to a single image using specially written software that samples a frame of a movie every second, was acquired for MoMA's permanent collection. On brendandawes.com blog Brendan publishes personal projects created from an eclectic mix of digital an analog objects and random thoughts.
Brendan will talk about his career so far, from editing together illegal breakbeat albums with tape and a razor blade to his work at The Musuem of Modern Art in New York.
